Licensing Rules

Both of the new Intune products are add-ons to Microsoft Intune Plan 1.  In other words, you cannot assign Microsoft Intune Plan 2 licenses or Microsoft Intune Suite licenses to a user account without also assigning Microsoft Intune Plan 1.

Keep in mind that Microsoft Intune Plan 1 is already included in the following subscriptions bundles:

  • Microsoft 365 Business Premium
  • Microsoft 365 E3/E5/F1/F3
  • Enterprise Mobility + Security E3/E5

Therefore, you can add Microsoft Intune Plan 2 or Microsoft Intune Suite to the above subscription bundles.
