Example

"Backup repository is getting low on free disk space (271.1 GB free of 2.8 TB)."

Threshold

Warning: 10% is free on the backup repository.

Error: There is not enough free space on the backup repository to store backup files.

Summary

During the backup process data is written to the backup repository. It is possible for virtual machines with high disk operations to cause larger than normal incremental files. This, along with adding virtual machines to backup jobs, can cause the repository to run out of space. If needed, review backup job history and see how much data your jobs typically consume. On average we find that with a 14 day retention you will need 1.5x the amount of repository space compared to your consumed production data. For example, if your virtual machines you are backup up consume 500 GB of data, you should need a 750 GB repository, not considering normal growth.

Solution

Evaluate your usage and remove any backups that you no longer need or request more repository space from EvolveIP Support at support@evolveip.net.
